Lime Rock Resources Announces Sale of Central Basin Platform Assets
Houston, Texas — May 7, 2025 — Lime Rock Resources (“Lime Rock”), a Houston-based energy private equity firm focused on acquiring, operating, and improving producing oil and gas properties in the United States, announced the divestiture of its Shafter Lake and Midland Farms properties held in Lime Rock Resources Fund IV (the “Fund”), located in the Central Basin Platform of Texas for gross consideration of approximately $100 million. The transaction closed on March 31, 2025 and the Fund made a significant distribution to Fund investors at quarter-end after closing. Truist Securities assisted Lime Rock in a broad and competitive sale process. “Truist did a great job marketing these assets with numerous potential buyers and we believe we received the highest value,” said Jonathan Hickman, Chief Operating Officer of Lime Rock Resources.
“We are always looking for ways to return capital to our limited partners and we’re pleased with this outcome,” said Eric Mullins, Co-Founder of Lime Rock Resources.
The sale aligns with Lime Rock’s broader strategy of disciplined capital deployment and opportunistic monetizations. Jonathan Hickman added, “We believe the transaction resulted in a good outcome for both parties. And while we’ve marketed multiple asset packages over the past two years, we’ve chosen not to transact unless we believe value is being met. That approach allowed us to achieve a fair outcome.”
